March 2018

14 March 2018 - High Sheriff of Hampshire Community Awards

The Bobby Scheme gratefully accepted an award from the High Sheriff of Hampshire, Mary Montagu-Scott, for our work with the vulnerable and elderly in the community.


November 2017

Our Meet the Chiefs breakfast event took place at the Ageas Bowl on 17 November 2017. The event was a great opportunity to explain the good work of the Bobby Scheme and to thank our supporters.

Our long term supporters Hendy Group very kindly handed over the keys to a replacement Bobby Scheme vans.

October 2017

In October, with the support of the WightAID Foundation, we were able to purchase a new van for the Bobby Scheme on the Isle of Wight. Supt Sarah Jackson and the Isle of Wight High Sheriff, Ben Rouse, accepted the keys on behalf of the Trust

June 2017

The Chief Constable, Olivia Pinkney, accepted the keys on behalf of the Trust for a new van grateful donated to the Trust by Snows Group .

May 2017

12 May 2017 - Annual Road Safety Conference, Grand Harbour Hotel, Southampton

This years conference was a huge success attended by the Vice Lord Lieutenant of Hampshire, Royston Smith MP, Deputy Chief Fire Office and major sponsors including Exxon Mobil, Motorola, Snows Group, Hendy Group and Winchester Motor Group

2016 Annual Conference at The Grand Harbor Hotel, Southampton

Over 150 guests attended our Annual Conference on 17 June enjoying a talk by Tiff Needell and the opportunity to win some fantastic prizes in the balloon raffle including the use of a Ford Mustang or Lotus Elise.

February 2016

  • Gambia - 5th to 19th

The Blue Lamp Trust will be conducting on road training to staff from the Medical Research Council’s facility in Gambia over a 2 week period in February.

This exciting project aims to reduce the driving risk for their essential staff who deliver medical personnel, equipment and samples across the country using a fleet of Toyota Land Cruisers.

The standard of driving and geography of the country make driving conditions both risky and challenging……….……all in a day’s work for a Blue Lamp Trust specialist trainer!

  • Hendy Ford Motor Group - Van Donation - 27th January

Mark Busby, New Car Sales and Marketing Director at Hendy Ford Motor Group, generously donated a Ford Transit Connect to be used by the Bobby Scheme for a year.

  • New Health & Safety Courses

Utilising our relationship with the Emergency Services , we can now offer a range of Health & Safety courses to complement our driver training programme to effectively become a “One Stop Shop” for all of your training needs.

Our fully certified courses cover a range of topics to include First Aid, Fire Safety, Lone Working, Conflict Management, Hazardous Substances and Risk Assessments at a choice of training levels to suit your requirements.

The proceeds of these competitively priced courses will be used to support the “Bobby Scheme”

eLearning Launch

The first 3 modules of our Police approved eLearning programme will launch on the 20th January to supplement our wide range of driver compliance products. This is a popular cost effective method of training which aims to reduce driving risk by improving candidates driving knowledge by looking at 3 key areas of driving to include Speed Limits, Driver Distraction and Traffics signs & Road Markings.

The modules are engaging with candidates being guided through the training by our “Spokes Droid” Bobby. The modules include a knowledge check and a certificate is issued to evidence successful completion of the training.
