Cyber Advisor Visits

One of our police checked and trained Cyber volunteers will visit you in your own home and give you advice and guidance on basic IT security and how to avoid being affected by a cyber crime or a cyber enabled crime.

They will cover such things as;

  • What is cyber crime?
  • Cyber and scam prevention advice
  • How to check privacy settings
  • Signposting to other advice and resources
  • How to report issues
  • How to recognise scam emails and text messages

We recommend clients consider having a family member or carer present for appointments to assist in recalling the information given during the visit

Advisors are police vetted and carry ID cards to reassure our clients.

The service is completely free.

Referrals can be made on behalf of adults who meets one of the following criteria:

  • Over 60 years old
  • Disabled (over 18)
  • Previous Victim of Cyber Crime (over 18)

Please note that we can only visit homes within Hampshire (exc. IoW).

Cyber Advisor Talks

The Cyber Bobby Scheme aims to promote cyber security to vulnerable and elderly members of our community.  As part of this, our Cyber Advisors regularly give talks to local community and social groups.
