The Bobby Scheme brings peace of mind and helps reduce the fear of crime to the vulnerable and elderly.  Burglary and domestic abuse can be a devastating experience, causing turmoil, depression and stress related illness.  Our aim is to ensure confidence and enable people to carry on living independently and to maintain a sense of security within their own home.

Fitter Visits

Fitters visit clients across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight providing FREE home security, long-life smoke alarms, advice and peace of mind for the vulnerable and elderly.

At the earliest opportunity, a visit from one of our trained Fitters is arranged. They carry out a full crime-prevention survey fitting, as appropriate, items such as:

  • Locks
  • Spy-Holes
  • Door Chains

The Fitters are uniformed, police vetted and carry ID cards to reassure our clients.

Please note that we do not provide a handy person service, carry out electrical work, or supply and fit CCTV.

Key Safes

We offer the supply and fit of the Supra C500 Key Safe, an ACPO Police Accredited Key Safe.  The cost to supply and fit is £75 inc VAT.

Key safes fitted by the Trust carry a 5 year warranty against faulty operation of the safe or installation by the Trust.

Fitter Talks

The purpose of the Bobby Scheme is to promote and enhance community safety in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. As part of this, our Fitters regularly give talks to local and social groups.

As well as raising awareness of the Bobby Scheme, these talks provide practical advice regarding home security and safety, including examples of the types of hardware that can be installed to make a home more secure.

If you would like a Fitter to visit your group, please email the team at or call 0300 777 0157.
