Who is the Blue Lamp Trust
We are a charitable organisation based in Hampshire. We offer driver training to generate an income for our Bobby Scheme, which visits vulnerable and elderly people to help secure their homes free of charge.

How do I book a course?

All courses are booked through Eventbrite via our website.  See the course page on our website for details

Do I need to have anything with me?

You will need to bring the following original documents:

• Valid driving licence
• Taxi/Private Hire badge (if applicable)

How long is the course?

Disability Awareness – 3 hours

Taxi Driver Remedial Course – 3 hours

Taxi Safeguarding – 2 hours 45

How much does the course cost?

I am a Passenger Assistant and do not have a Driving Licence, how will I register on the course?

If you are attending as a Passenger Assistant you will need to show either your Passport or Council photo ID upon registration.

When will I receive the joining instructions?

Joining instructions are issued at 13:00 the day prior to the course by email to the candidate.

How do I join the course?

The joining instructions include a link to Zoom.  You should use this to join promptly at the registration time of the course.

Included with the joining instructions are detailed notes to help candidates and show them what to expect when joining.

We recommend testing Zoom in advance to be sure you know how to use it and how to activate your camera and audio – these are essential to completing the course.

Can two people share a log in and do the together?

We do allow two people to share a screen to do the course. They must both register and pay to attend. Certificates can only be issued to those who have registered and successfully complete the course.

Both candidates must be able to be seen and heard by the trainer and actively participate throughout the course.

When will I receive my certificate?

An eCertificate is issued to all successful candidates 2-3 working days after the course.  This is sent by email 

I suffer with dyslexia, can I still take the course?

The course is talked through by the tutor, everything on the screen is explained word for word and things can be explained and reiterated.

Upon completion all candidates receive a course booklet by email that summaries the course.

If you do suffer with dyslexia please contact the office to discuss if you feel you need more information

Can I cancel my booking?

You can cancel your booking up to 7 days prior to the event via Eventbrite. After this time you will not receive a refund and bookings are non-transferable.

All refunds will incur the deduction of the Evenbrite processing fee

What IT equipment do I need?

You will need to use a laptop, tablet or phone which can connect with Zoom and use audio and the camera.

You need to be on a strong WiFi connection to ensure consistent connectivity throughout the course.  If you keep losing connection you will be removed from the course
