Electric Vehicle Driver Training Overview
This Electric Vehicle Driver Training course is designed to provide comprehensive knowledge and practical skills for drivers new to operating electric vehicles.
The course is structured into two main components: a theory workshop and practical on-road development sessions.

Course Structure
A bespoke on road driver training course in electric vehicles up to 4.25t for those new to driving an EV. Lasting approximately 3 hours, and delivered by a DVSA Fleet Approved Driver Trainer. The course assesses the candidates driving skill as well as providing input regarding charging methods, range maximisation, EV torque capabilities, regenerative braking and effective journey planning considering charge and range.
At the end of the course a Driving Risk Assessment Report will be issued. As well as providing feedback the report will grade driving risk into:
- Low – No further action required
- Medium – Recommendations for improvement given and a further assessment may be suggested
- High – Additional training will be recommended
