A highly interactive virtual classroom training course aimed at Taxi & Private Hire drivers to reduce driving risk and improve customer service.

Course Content

The course aims to provide Hackney Carriage and Private Hire drivers with a knowledge and understanding of their responsibilities and best practice protocols to provide safe and secure transport to all passengers. The course covers:

• Reducing driving risk
• Improving passenger safety
• A Highway Code refresher
• Improving customer service (non-driving issues)
• An update on traffic law
• Content is Police approved

The course aim is to improve passenger safety and travelling experience for members of the public using a taxi or private hire vehicle by educating drivers that have been “flagged” to their local authority due to a lapse in driving standards or customer service issues.

The course offers licensing practitioners an extra layer of enforcement and drivers the opportunity to update their knowledge of the Highway Code, look at the risks associated with driving a Taxi or Private Hire vehicle and the consequences of failing to manage those risks.

The syllabus covers key areas such as identification of speed limits and explaining how hazards and distractions affect driving. The trainers will look at the human cost of collisions and explore coping strategies to reduce driving risk. The course also explores some non-driving issues such as carrying assistance dogs and passengers with disabilities. Successful candidates will be issued with an eCertificate to evidence completion of the course.
